Fans were dumbfounded when they saw Travis Scott on their screens during the latest trailer for the upcoming film, The Odyssey.

On Sunday night, January 25, a new trailer for Christopher Nolan's anticipated film aired during the AFC Championship Game between the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos. The Houston rapper stunned fans as he narrated scenes with stars Tom Holland, Jon Bernthal, and Matt Damon.

'A war, a man, a trick," Scott says during his scene in the film. "A trick to break the walls of Troy. A burning, screaming to the ground."

Within minutes of the trailer's debut, fans expressed their shock on social media. Some people were surprised to see Scott in such a serious role. The UTOPIA rapper had minor appearances in films like Gully (2019), Trolls: Holiday in Harmony (2021) and Aggro Dr1ft (2023). However, this is his first time acting in a major motion picture, and fans were hype to see him in it.

"Travis Scott being in the odyssey is awesome and you’re lame as hell if you disagree," one user on X said.

On the flip side, some critics questioned why Nolan would include him in such a historic film. "I was under the impression this was a serious film," one hater commented. "I’m so serious when I say this ruined my mood," said another.

This isn't the first time Christopher Nolan and Travis Scott have worked together. The famed director had Scott create "The Plan," which is the theme song for his 2020 film Tenet starring John David Washington and Robert Pattinson. In an interview, Nolan said the film's composer, Ludwig Göransson, suggested using Scott and said he was "great to work with." Scott was also the first person to see Tenet before it dropped.

The Odyssey debuts in theaters July 16. See more reactions and watch what Christopher Nolan said about Travis Scott below.
