Jamie Foxx is back with a brand-new love song just in time for Valentine's Day.
On Friday, February 13, the accomplished singer-actor released his new single "Somebody" via Foxxhole Productions. The smooth R&B track begins with Foxx's soothing vocals, followed by emotional lyrics inspired by a love story that anyone can relate to. Foxx's latest single reminds the world of his deep roots in R&B, which spans over the past three decades. His latest track proves the Grammy and Academy Award-winning artist hasn't lost his touch.
"Can somebody find somebody to get this somebody off my mind," Foxx croons.
It's been over a decade since Jamie Foxx released an official single. His previous studio album, Hollywood: A Story of a Dozen Roses, dropped in 2015. His fifth LP contains 18 tracks featuring appearances by Wale, Chris Brown, Fabolous, Kid Ink, and Pharrell Williams. Afterward, Foxx took an extended hiatus to focus on other projects, including films like Disney's Soul and Spider-Man: No Way Home. He also became a game show host for FOX's "Beat Shazam."
Jamie Foxx has been plotting his return to music for some time. Last year, the "Unpredictable" singer made his comeback on Snoop Dogg's gospel album Altar Call. He appeared solo on the track "Grandma's Hands" over a sample of Blackstreet's "No Diggety." Foxx announced his official return to music last month.
